Jane Faia Mentz
Jane Faia Mentz is a seasoned attorney with nearly four decades of experience practicing law in Louisiana. Jane has sustained a statewide legal practice with a primary focus on real estate, creditor security, transactional law, and civil litigation, including bankruptcy and foreclosure while also including estate planning and business organizations. Ms. Mentz brings a unique depth of knowledge in managing large-scale, federally and state-funded projects, with a strong emphasis on compliance, legal documentation, and strategic oversight which additionally spans individual clients to strategize their legal needs and desired outcomes.
Admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts since 1985, Ms. Mentz has built a career marked by leadership and service. She has done everything from serving as General Counsle to a Non Profit, overseeing legal and compliance operations for high-impact community development projects across the U.S., and as Director of Health and Safety for UP Professional Solutions, managing legal affairs and HR operations for a 700-employee workforce in the energy sector.

Maggie started her legal career in New Orleans, Louisiana as an associate for a “Big Law” AM Law 100 law firm with over 23 offices. Early in her career, Maggie gained considerable experience in a variety of practice areas, including securities, real estate, business transactions, financing, and litigation. Maggie’s early success in her transactional practice allowed her to focus her career in the areas of securities, real estate funds and general corporate, including a highly-regulated practice area. She is listed in Louisiana Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Business/Corporate (2022, 2023) and The Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch” in Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships, Corporate Law, and Commercial Litigation (2023).
Maggie’s work ethic, attention to detail and range of legal experience garners significant confidence and trust from clients. Her practicality and efficiency, along with her ability to synthesize information and solve problems make her a tremendous asset to the Firm and Firm clients.
Maggie joined Williams Business Law in April 2023 after almost 6 years of practice. Maggie and Mike have a demonstrated history of successful teamwork, and they look forward to continuing to provide sophisticated legal services to their clients as they grow the Firm together.
